Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan routine maintenance
- Review routine servicing requirements of site equipment, and prepare maintenance schedules.
- Determine and organize tools, equipment and material requirements for maintenance work.
- Plan, schedule and communicate maintenance procedures to appropriate personnel.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to personnel who hold required skills and expertise
- Plan maintenance processes in line with site procedures and environmental requirements, and modify in response to changes in equipment, personnel and site condition.
- Monitor equipment operation
- Conduct work according to work order.
- Check site servicing and maintenance records for completeness and abnormal activity.
- Maintain stock levels of routine service items, and minor repair components, to maximise availability and optimum operational performance of equipment.
- Monitor equipment operation and identify operating faults and frequent or recurring breakdowns.
- Obtain expert advice and specialist assistance when required, according to site procedures.
- Review condition of equipment and ensure and efficient operation.
- Facilitate equipment repair
- Conduct visual inspection and fault finding procedures.
- Diagnose and report faults, malfunctions or problems with equipment.
- Assess equipment breakdowns and select and organise suitable repairs.
- Organise movement of equipment to suitable repair site.
- Monitor and modify repair procedures as required.
- Periodically review and revise maintenance schedule to maintain operational integrity.
- Deal with equipment that cannot be repaired in line with site procedures, manufacturer recommendations and environmental requirements.
- Complete and maintain accurate records and reports for equipment repair and maintenance
